| Daniel Oromaner, Clinical Hypnotherapist |
Hypnosis Training and Certifications While hypnosis
is generally regarded as safe, when delving into the subconscious most healthcare professionals recommend the assistance of
a skilled and well-trained practitioner. Just because someone is practicing in the state of Arizona does NOT mean they are
either skilled or well trained! Through my patients I have heard of local hypnotherapists whose
only training was over the Internet, hypnotherapists who do not specify their training or education in the field--who may
have only attended a weekend workshop in hypnosis--plus a hypnotherapist who claimed he had never been hypnotized himself!
And, one well-known hypnotherapist who claims to be certified as a CCHt, yet the certifying organization confirms that they
have NOT certified her and have tried to get her to remove that false claim! In contrast, I am
a certified clinical hypnotherapist-the highest certification by an accrediting organization in the United States. A graduate
of the Colorado School of Counseling Hypnotherapy where I was personally trained by Zoilita Grant, MS, CCHt, the Director of the school. She has been a presenter
at international hypnotherapy conferences, and wrote and published 27 books in the field. I have been certified
by the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association and hold a current certification from the prestigious American Council of Hypnotist Examiners. Both organizations only certify graduates of approved schools, and both require extensive training and passing of a written
examination before certification is granted.
Related Education Although I have taught interpersonal
relations for years and conducted individual and group counseling sessions, I am not a licensed professional counselor in
Arizona and do not offer psychotherapy services. If needed, referrals can be made. However,
I have always been fascinated by the workings of the mind, and relished my studies that led to a bachelor's degree in psychology
from Queens College (City University of New York). While most Arizona residents may not be familiar with this school, in August
2007, Newsweek named it one of the country's "hottest." And, despite producing
Nobel Laureates and CEO's of major corporations, it is best known for its graduates and attendees in the entertainment industry:
Paul Simon, Joy Behar, Ray Romano, Jerry Seinfeld, Fran Drescher, Marvin Hamlisch, Carole King, Susan Isaacs, and Adrien Brody.
(Maybe I should have gone into show business!)
This psychology program was both demanding and rewarding.
It prepared me well for my Graduate Record Exam in psychology where I scored at the 99th percentile.
My master's degree in industrial psychology was awarded by another branch of the City University-Baruch College.
Their alumni list is not as well known, but Ralph Lauren and Jennifer Lopez attended classes there. And, the part-time MBA
program I completed was ranked 17th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report
("America's Best Graduate Schools 2007").

Career Highlights During my decades-long career,
I have taught at the college and graduate level, consulted with corporations big and small, coached entrepreneurs and healthcare
professionals, won awards, made presentations to local, national and international conferences, had articles published in
professional journals, been interviewed on radio news programs and co-founded two successful consulting firms. In my Inner Power Hypnosis work, I not only call
upon my training in hypnosis, but all relevant education and experience-including setting up a large employee-assistance (drug
and alcohol) program and consulting for many years for Weight Watchers International. I have a great deal of experience utilizing
projective techniques and guided imagery, so I was well prepared for my study of hypnosis and hypnotherapy.

Although there have been many periods of community service in my life and career,
including teaching in the NYC schools, volunteering for non-profit organizations, and helping to run an employment
program for the Labor Department, I had not specifically set an intention of community service. However, when I moved
to Boulder Colorado and helped create The Heartlight Center, I realized my path was one of service, and I have stayed
on that path ever since.
As my daughter said recently, My dad loves to help people grow, develop
and be happy. As a clinical hypnotherapist I have the privilege of doing just that. What could be better?
